desertbred 5,490
When farmers and land owners are threatened regularly with prosecution for allowing some hunting activities on their land, and fines of £5,000, is it any wonder permissions are hard to come by ? A legislation that was badly conceived and drafted has left thousands on the grey side of a discriminatory law that will for example allow hunting of hares as long as they are despatched by gun or bird but cant be coursed and despatched by dogs yet if one is winged it can then be hunted by a dog and despatched in the most humane and quickest method possible in the prevailing circumstances. Now posters and apps to allow people to report "illegal hunting" easier isn,t it supposed to be in it together and a fight to repeal or amend an unjust law? How can you be part of and support criminalisation under" the hunting act" yet claim to be working for its repeal? if the law is wrong it is wrong no preconditions or buts. Poaching campaign resourcesA glossary of terms associated with poaching has been produced, along with some posters, for police forces and other agencies, landowners etc. These can be used to raise awareness of poaching and have been produced as part of the Poacher Priority Delivery group, of which the Countryside Alliance is a part. You will recall that the Project Poacher App is also available and is designed to make it easier to report such offences. The glossary of poaching terms can be downloaded here and the template posters can be downloaded here. Declan. 318
I do think a lot of this discrimination is worse in some areas of the country to others, I'd say from what I see on here on Facebook etc there's more trouble with you northern boys and girls then what there is further down the country where I am. I don't see any such posters or anything mentioning poaching. What do you guys think? Quote Link to post

Flynn 314
Ok Folks, I am asking has any one seen the photo before, and before You jump on the band wagon, poaching has gone on way before the Hunting Act. I dont see why the #Lucher# has to front the campaign But this photo has done the round before, some one surely some of the older members must recall it? I have a suggestion.... however, i was hoping some one else could help?! Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
The dog looks familiar! the man and dog could possibly be flushing to guns on permission and it has been doctored with the printing, just a thought or paranioa Quote Link to post

I have the pile of "Hare coursing is illigal" signs someone dropped off to our shoot to put up around the place in the beaters shed still, but have to say the shoot owners have shot dogs that were left behind by land drivers after their motors were rammed so the law would deffo be the softer option if caught on there ..As for the travelling lads,a few of them left an old boy in a bad way in suffolk last year after he caught them and word has spread, some lads will suffer for it be it them or not ..
