shaaark 10,869
Just had a quick look at the classified section . Deerhound/borzoi x deerhound/greyhound pups. £500 for bitches £450 for dogs . I could sort of understand those sort of prices if they were coursing/saluki bred type pups, but not litters such as these. Anyone interested in taking one on? Quote Link to post

low plains drifter 10,642
No need to pay that sort of money for a lurcher, you can get top bloodlined coursing bred pups for 1/4 of that price these days Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,661
Yeah I looked as you don't see many borzoi crosses, seen the price an thought my car cost that pmsl. Makes the 295 pounds I paid for me labradoodle pup a steal.lol Quote Link to post

Wouldn't personally pay that sort of price for a pup, but that's been the sort of price that I've seen some coursing bred pups being advertised for. And LPD I wouldn't really know how much, or how little, coursing bred pups go for these days. Just making an observation really 1 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
I'd pay £500 if I wanted one ,but I can't believe that type of cross that they are breeding with hunting in mind. Saw some borzoi x bedlington pups for sale a few years back and that was the same breeding because they can ,simple as really. Seen lads pay 100's on equipment ,or even 1000's on night vision etc yet moan about paying £200 for a dog ,that does all the work for 8 or 10 years . If it came to it I'd pay a lot more than they are going for and think I have had a bargain when you think the service you get from them. 4 Quote Link to post

Can't see that type being bred with hunting/work in mind Quote Link to post

nans pat 2,575
lot of borzi bred lurchers here beside us,borzi x saluki so their still about. Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
I looked at the ad out of curiosity more than anything else, but it's definitely not a cross I'd want to go for. I think you should do everything you possibly can to stack the odds in your favour when you get a working lurcher pup. I'd want to see plenty of workers on both sides. I think it's extremely unlikely the borzoi grandparent of these pups is a worker, bred from a long line of workers. 1 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
I take it back ...she said they are fantastic workers ,so that's OK then Quote Link to post
