Visitors To The Village

Recommended Posts

about 30 c aravans parked up in a national trust carpark about a week ago. this was about a mile and a half from my home and i thought nothing of it. on monday they were moved on, and pulled onto the common about 200 yards from my house. 30 caravans, 20 odd transits, 4x4s some nice saloon cars and about 100 people all told. plus around 20 assorted unruly dogs. more visitors than village inhabitants. i drove the dogs down to my old mums for now, and only kept the old terrier shut indoors as he makes a noise when somebody is about. already there have been a steady stream of men "just walking the dog" turning up in private lanes behind the cottages, wandering around the farm yards and going in and out of the sheds, peering through windows and climbing over fences kids climbing into gardens (caught one in my chicken run, asked him politely to leave and he threatened to stab me!)) and several sheds have been robbed (lawn mowers, chain saws that sort of thing.) the catalytic converter was unbolted from my neighbours 4x4 last night. we know that the real robbing will happen a day or two after they have gone.

well they were finally moved on this morning.......and drove a whole quarter of mile to stop on the other side of the common!!

i walked past their previous site, and their is broken glass evrywhere and the amount of human shit, just left whrever they could be bothered to drop their pants, is unbeleivable. the normal litter i can cope with, even the dead terrier, but the shit is something else. we normally take a cut of hay off the common, but i darent feed that stuff to livestock with all the glass baled up in it, and short of going through the whole lot on hands and knees i dont know how we will get it right. my missus is at home all day with two small kids and another due in 3 months time, and says the chavvies are really threatening and scary whenever she goes outside (they were shooting at her with catapults yesterday), so she is effectively trapped indoors; she darent go out in the car in case they start on the garden again.i might have to drive her and the kids to my mums for a while too. i have booked a few days off work to stay at home but really we are all at our wits end, this is a quiet village and there is never any crime yet we feel under siege. i grew up in new cross and i am not some naive bumpkin, but i really am not comfortable with this, there is a menacing tension which worries me. the parish council have taken legal steps again. but it looks as though the visitors intend to stay around here for a while. one of the councillors who is quite old went to speak to them a few days ago and was told he would be killed if he didnt feck off. charming. and that was by one of the women!

any advice or words of wisdom?

A load of transits caravans etc pulled into the local college grounds in my town .... Before the last caravan had pulled in the police were there stopping them ... Within an hour there were as many police cars as there were caravans in another hour they had been escorted right up to the M4 corridor ... I suppose it helps when the college in question is the one where Kate Middleton whent to ........

Or get yourself a monkey, couple rats and a swan or two lol hope a single magpie lands on there next camp before they pull on.

Or you could ask them how they fixed for water and if they know the best place to get it.

Might work wonders.
