neil cooney 10,416
Are they really the pest they're said to be ? When I look at a picture like that I'm just licking my lips. We still have our native Crayfish but they're getting rare. Quote Link to post
fat man 4,741
Remember years ago we had an eel net down on the mouth of a river that runs to a small lake.We set the net around 8pm and checked it around 6am next morn,it was heaving with crayfish but only a few eel.The man that was with me took some just to try them out and later on informed me they were delicious, the rest we tipped back into the river.A few days later i was saying it to another man that does a fair bit of netting and he told me we were after throwing a good few quid back in the river,he also said that they migrate dont know if this is true but a wk or so later we done the same set and this time we had a decent haul of eels but only a few crayfish. mattyg 1,862
I've had a few " lobster wannabes" over the past few summers but I only ever drop a couple of traps and as you say, I could get rid of a body in a few places..... But there are some clonking chub and perch in these places that are very well fed on the little nippers. Lol Matt 1 Quote Link to post
