Flamingoes In Somerset

Recommended Posts

So, some rich fella has bought 4 so that he can get them breeding and have some on his estate. Problem is, in just a few day old foxy or possibly an otter has got one and made a nice breakfast out of it.

One of you local lads need to offer your services for fox control, or work out some way of keeping them pesky otters away. Google it to find the story.

Happened in Dublin Zoo a few years back. A fox got in and killed some Flamingos .

A few friends of mine were working on the Zoo extension at the time.

Anyway's someone with a rifle took out the fox the next morning before the Zoo opened to the public.

 If it was me with the rifle I'd have got myself a trophy of some type too, .

Got the wrong end of the stick, sorry. However, difficult to imagine flamingos proving dangerous to native species :)

No worries Torquemada - no , I don't imagine they'll multiply any , nor will we see flocks of them wading along the rivers and marshes of Somerset - the rest will no doubt be accounted for by Mr Fox !
