New Venue

I have decided to give the fishing another decent go this summer so was on the look out for a new benue near me and remembered about an old brick pond that was a small coarse fishing syndicate that a friend of my dads was in. times gone by there was a waiting list to get on this place. I decided to go have a walk around the other day and bumped into the bailiff or treasurer as his title is. He said that 3 people had not renewed and there was no longer a waiting list it was first come first served. I had a walk around and was a bit dubious as to why there was no longer a waiting list, plus it looked a bit run down so I decided to leave it.

 

Well I went to see the bailiff today at his house and have a chat about the place. It all sounded good and the rules suited me and my fishing (nights and/or with little un) so decided to go for another walk around.....I was not expecting what greeted me

So, I decided to go back down to his house and pay my dues. Then when I got home I thought it would be rude not to have a go with a bit of floater fishing for an hour or two.

This one was 16lb1oz in the net.

This one was bigger but guess what....my scales packed in! Should have never gone digital!!!

Being conservative Id give it 18 but it may have gone 20.

So all in all well happy with my new venue.

 

Thing is these were the small fish in the groups that I saw!!!!! I saw a mirror two foot from bank that was a beast. Id say mid to high twenties but its anyones guess unless they are on the bank.

good choice to join the pond, some times the run down waters as you say, can be better fishing, as you get over hangs, cover, making the fish that bit closer, nice fish you had there, lets hope you get to hook one of the bigger ones ..........and get yourself some new scales................ .....keep us posted mate,

Managed to get down yesterday for an hours surface fishing and bagged a new uk pb. 22lb. stunning fish but unfotunately mouth has been damaged at some point. still only second time Ive fished the place and new pb, well chuffed. theres another dozen in there atleast that could break it again. happy days.

yeah, i know. my bad. already had that conversation with myself. I have one but didnt have it with me.
