I'm sure these pics have been put up before but for the people who have the image of a shivering, nervous little reck in their mind.....

I bet it wouldn't look so comfy on top of a fell in December or stood on Salisbury plain with a north easterly gale blowing in winter lol ......

Lol that's funny, to be fair one of his whippets is a nice stamp.   If I had one then I would want one like this...

Non pedigree whippet types from when we were kids, rabbit, hare, rat, cat anything they came across they would have a go at.

Whippets are often underestimated as hunting dogs,... In fact,..they can often enhance the breeding programe of a purist rabbiteer   Some specimans have an inate desire to catch their quarry,..the

Ive got a 20" 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy that looks pretty much like a pure whippet. And from day 1 most of the blokes I run with who all got big line bred bullxs laughed and took the piss, shes just done her 3rd full season and they dont laugh anymore. Shes too tough for her own good and works all cover very well........only a few weeks ago one of the aforementioned blokes whos worked dogs 40 yrs and slagged whippets off most of that time!,said shes the most valuable member of the pack In the day because of the ammount of stuff she puts up (and catches). Shes no big field courser but where I run em shes more than useful.

Its great to see that there are some whippet owners still out there lol that enjoy them just as much as me there speed determination and bond with the owner is fantastic and at the end of the day they are only little rabbit dogs that you do have great fun with easy kept no trouble and hours of enjoyment everytime you bring them out what more could you ask from them

The last thing I want to do is to bull up the whippet for the so called working whippet breeders that breed litter after litter out of untested dogs flooding the market with shit. It took me a long time to find one I was happy with, I had to go through a lot. From owning her I have met and been out with some lads with some top class whippets that keep themselves to themselves, there are good ped whippets out there it's just finding them. The next whippet I own I'll be breeding it myself  .

I have owned 4 whippets mainly as house dogs but of course doing a bit as well. 3 from the 4 were from racing stock the other I bought from Ireland supposedly from well known hunting stock.

They were a mixed bag. One wouldn't even chase a rabbit but would chase a lure all day. One was good for rabbit and hare if not asked to give to much law. One was Ok for rabbits, but was cat mad, no cat beserk. The one I have now is the working stock from Ireland who is so wooden she couldn't catch a rabbit in a telephone box (stupid too).

I prefer the racing stock whippets in every department.

not asking you to name and shame but is the "working dog" from an Irish breeders own line?
