morton 5,368
Not one to put too much on here about my mutts, (as they are mostly useless.lol) but had to take my old wheaten cross for a one way trip to the vets this morning. Murph had been suffering from a few health problems over the past couple of years but he made 10 years old. Not everyone's idea of a world beater but a good honest dog who knocked plenty over. RIP Murphy ! You don,t come across as the usual sensitive soppy sort on here that injures,or loses a mutt and wants the world to wipe their tears and arse.I can see that mutt held an influence on you mucker and i can share that sentiment, chin up mucker. 3 Quote Link to post

mattyg 1,862
..many thanks for the kind words, telling myself it's "just a dog" ain't cutting it as it should! I've got one dog here that won't make old bones due to being f***ing stupid/committed so that's one that won't need the vets and another that that has leant to use his brain and I also have his sire (13) so there's plenty of trials and tribulations to follow should you care! Again , many thanks for your words of support! It's just a bloody dog!!!!! Yeah right!!! 3 Quote Link to post

Again , many thanks for your words of support! It's just a bloody dog!!!!! Yeah right!!! when they reach that age its not just a dog...you see a mutt walking alone in the street,,thats a dog,you see a noisy yapping cur good for nothing ,thats a dog. What you had was a partner,,,and in some circumstances A PARTNER IN CRIME,lol..(depending on what you pursued) and when you loose your hunting buddy it bloody hurts, theres a bond built up over years of companionship and a job of work every time you strike out..It may not always be a successful adventure but the 2 of you shared it together, and when hes no longer there,it feels like part of you is missing, same as most true to their mutts, hunting men......SO REALISE...HE NOT JUST A DOG,HES A TEAM MEMBER WHEN HES PROVEN HIS WORTH AND A BIG LOSS WHEN HE GOES....but thats life, just got to carry on,sorry for your loss, its ahead of us all at some point, and i myself am not looking forward to my turn, but what can ye do....
