In contrast Usyk was respectful, a gentleman. A practitioner of the noble art.

The Furys are an embarrassment to  boxing and the UK.

Thankfully we are seeing the tail end of them now.

Thing is with usyk I remember him fighting at heavy weight  in the amateurs so it's not his first dance at heavyweight

The heavyweight limit in amateur boxing is 92kg.....Usyk weighs 102kg as a pro heavyweight.

Be interesting to see who itauma fights next seems very a highly rated prospect

Hopefully they dont push him too fast like they did poor Johnny Fisher that was a terrible fight to take....hardly any amateur experience,no real boxing technique or iq.....green as arseholes......so they stick him in with an experienced tough old journeyman to make him look awful......i remember a time when matchmakers in boxing were worth their weight in gold !

I’ve read a lot of your posts in recent years lamenting how the heavyweight division is now dominated by the size rather than skillset of the fighters. Must be satisfying to see a good littl’un beat an average big’un?
To be fair to Fury I’ve been critical in the past of him not taking or getting the career defining fights, but these last two were those fights. I think he boxed well in both but came up short against the better man, and for the most part has been gracious in those defeats…, so credit where it’s due.

I dont think the Usyk/Fury fight was much different from the first one really, like i said before the bout i think they could fight every week and Fury would never beat Usyk i just dont think Fury understands his movement......when its said that fighters like Usyk/Lomachenko/even Golovkin to a degree have great footwork its not really even boxing footwork its just great athletic movement......Usyk does tiny things that offsets an opponent who expects traditional boxing footwork.....Fury just cant work the picture out thats infront of him when he faces Usyk.

I had Usyk by 2 maybe 3 rounds, i hate it when pro judges score even rounds to me thats a cop out and so i can see how it was 116 - 112 but for me you must have a winner of a round and from round 6 on i think i only gave Fury 1 or 2 rounds......Fury could easily have had points taken as his constant pulling on the back of the head, throwing a punch then wrapping Usyk up,his backhand swings when he finds himself out of position could all have been punished by a stronger referee.

For me Usyk is a generational great who has pretty much breezed through the sport ....Fury has never been a great and has been very lucky to get away with the resume of opponents he has got away with....yes he is definitely better than most people thought when he first made it big but he is an incomplete fighter....in an era of incomplete fighters.....all under the rule of a complete fighter......who at anywhere even close to the same physical size these fights wouldnt even be competitive.

Couldnt agree with you more, every word.....Usyk has showed that boxing can and has prevailed.

And like him or loathe him Fury seems a genuine and decent sportsman.

Good post. Fury could have been deducted points on a few occasions for holding and hitting.

Usyk is the best technical heavyweight I've ever seen. No wonder he has the beating  of the current crop of heavyweights. None come even close to him in ability.

It would be fascinating to have seen Usyk up against Ali, Holyfield or Lewis. They had a fluidity or power of punch which I think Usyk would have struggled with.
