The event would be better taken away from the sand chaps and put into somewhere more traditional. Then, they could shoot the rapper before he gets started and, put up some big posters of the previous world champions that had been in those arenas before.
pesky1972 5,296
Looking forward to Taylor v Catterall rematch on Saturday. Pity it took so long to make, but both good boxers and plenty needle might make for a decent fight. Bookies have Catterall favourite, but I think if Taylor can tweak a few things from the first fight he can win without controversy this time.
jukel123 8,106
Taylor has successfully fought at a much higher level. Did he just have an off night the last time or is he in decline? Some said he struggled to make the weight last time. Two years later he will struggle more if that's true. Catterall will be absolutely buzzing with a sense of injustice. He will need to keep his head or Taylor will punish him. It could get spiteful. I'm going with my heart and not my head.....Catterall.
pesky1972 5,296
Decent start. 4-2 Catterall after 6 Great fight this 4-4 after 8 5-5 after 10 i scored it a draw but a few rounds difficult to split them. Fantastic fight though. Hope some of you watched it lol. Edited May 25, 2024 by pesky1972
pesky1972 5,296
Terrible scoring. f***ing crooked. Its what ruins boxing imho. 1-1 so sets up a ‘trilogy’.

I was rooting for Catterall, but at the end I was uncertain as to who had won. The judges were a mystery in the first fight and bizarre in this one. Catterall models himself on Mayweather but he takes far more punishment. Mayweather makes his opponent miss and then counters. Catterall takes a heavy shot before he counters. He can't do that on the world stage.

I thought the cleaner and more convincing work came from Catterall, he wasn't in any trouble at any point but yeah difficult to score when it was Taylor who was the aggressor, close fight .

Bob Arum is probably correct, I think most American judges would have scored the fight in favour of Taylor. That doesn't make them right though. Doesn't make it right that he took the microphone. He should have accepted his man lost. A trilogy is almost certain I reckon.
