bigmac 97kt 13,795
To me that looks better than stain s**t any day , sorry So you have never had a rifle that has had stain on it when new ? and if you think that the yellow finish is better then you have bad taste in rifle stocks or is that why you only go for wall nut stocks less maintenance just a rub down and apply oil what ever floats your boat  Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Yes i have ,but most i change for custom stocks or the have been tactical and yes i prefer natural wood and like i have said before ,beech is a very nice in its own right I think we will have to disagree to agree on this matter Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,795
Well lets just hope you dont knock or mark any of your beech stocks or you will have to strip and stain them to get them back to there original condition or buy a custom stock  Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,795
A light rub down with the 0 wire wool then wiped off the dust with white spirits another coat of true oil thats 4 coats now ill give her one more coat let her dry then buffed with rubbing compound and then some bee,s wax and put the rifle back together atvbmac  5 Quote Link to post

Obviously never did rate it as quality wood but it holds a certain charm. Then there is this piece of Turkish Walnut on my WMR. Yours is looking great now mac.
