king 11,980
I won't be chipping my 3. If I get a tug and given 21 days then that's a bridge I will X when I come to it. Saying that i don't think I will see a copper in a field at night armed with a scanner. If I do I will swiftly disappear. 3 Quote Link to post
frankel 2,123
Main reason I am doing it, is because mine is scared of fireworks. And some kids where letting them off the other week on a random week night and my pup nearly bolted from its collar on to the railway line/main road. If anything like that happens again when it's off the lead I'm not sure if she will come back straight away. Rather pay now for cheap and not take any chances just incase. ?? 2 Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
To be honest, i don't think i'll find a copper in a field at night armed with a scanner either BUT back in his car he'll more than likely have one. Stopped on the way out, stopped on the way home, stopped walking down the road on excercise. Personally, i think the police will ensure there is a scanner in all cars soon enough and we working dog owners, along with innercity bull breed owners, will be easy pickings for em. I honesty think they will use it as much as poss to grind us down, it'll be dead easy for em. A win win win, clamp down on bull breeds, clamp down on working dogs and make a shed load of money to boot... Brace yourselves! Quote Link to post

low plains drifter 10,660
All my lot done when they were pups. Ive had dogs chipped since it first became available. Atbso what happens when they don't make the grade? Or do you just pass them onwhat different does it make if it's chipped? Most people put the dogs to sleep if no good. Better than passing them on.I won't be having my dog done until I'm stopped and il get it done on the 21day warning. There ain't many Lurcher/coursing boys that put dogs to sleep.. they always try to sell/swop or leave there rubbish on the field so that why I ask to question Well there's one good reason for having the dogs chipped, if there are tosspots leaving dogs on land because they don't consider them good enough, maybe it will teach them something about responsibility, and to make more effort with feeding and conditioning, the two vets near to me only charge ten snots to chip a dog, had my bitch chipped today, and glad to have had it done Quote Link to post
steve2507 522
I don't mind BUT!!! Make sure they have the right info on the chip . I took my 9 month pup to get done and also took my older bitch tessa to check her chip info and I'm glad I did as it came back that she was a chihuahua from a rescue centre ???? My chihuahua lol Quote Link to post

How about the lads who were prosecuted last year, here by me, walking to Altcar estate with lurchers. As they had previous they lobbed a charge of intent on it and it stuck... Look, the bottom line is that it can be used against you, if they want to use it. I'd just rather look at all the angles before i made a decision. Quote Link to post
