Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Have to say Neil ,I've had my eyes opened this year to the variety of size cubs I'm seeing .Came back up from a high seat Thursday evening on a farm where foxes are no bother and heard the crows mobbing a fox near the farm buildings .I crept up but ending up tapping my stalking sticks on a mower and I'm sure I disturbed the vixen as the crows went away calling down a hedgerow .However I did see 2 cubs ,still chocolate brown about 9_10 inches long and a bit wobbly on there feet it has to be said .They are under the farmers decking I'm told and can stay there .Last Saturday I dug a brace of cubs for a keeper outside a pen that were to all intense and purpose, young adults .The dead stuff had to be seen to be believed ,pheasants ,guinea fowl ,muntie fawns and a ginger cat.Rest of litter scattered nearby i guess yet to find .My phones knackered as I'd of took pics but mate has some on his . neil cooney 10,416
So it's not just local to me Foxdropper, nor am I imagining things, LOL. Also seen Leverets yesterday the size of Rabbits which done my heart good to see and while sitting behind a stone wall calling for a rogue fox I had two adult Hares come up to me to investigate. I should carry a camera really. But the size variation in cubs this year really makes you realise why folk often thing that foxes might have a second litter. I'm beginning to agree with ye boys in that second litters might be a myth. 2 Quote Link to post
Haiddheliwr 1,911
Try and get some pics up FD if you can. I am seeing only adult foxes at the moment and I am right out in the sticks real rural area! Saw a cub after being run over this week the size of a cat, but that is the first I have seen. Whether they are getting "streetwise" as I said previously on this thread or my greatest fear they are on the decline where I am living!! Quote Link to post

Crosshair 77
My cage trapping luck ran out with these three monkeys and I never did catch them. They finally moved and I lost them for a month until I located them on Thursday living in a barn full of square bales. I also had my first adult vixen and a pair of very large Cubs with my Russel pup a few weeks ago on one of those stinking wet days we had. Poults arrive next week so fingers crossed things are under control a bit now! 6 Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
Nice one Joe. That cub is sitting there looking at the sheep and saying to himself "in another few months I'll be big enough for you." LOL. I said a couple of months ago that I think there's going to be plenty of cubs around this year and it looks like I'm right. I was talking to a woman yesterday who's flock of hens has gone from over 40 to 15 in a couple of weeks. There's foxes even raiding her at 3 in the afternoon. Quote Link to post

When i had a look round where he disappeared there was a few odd bones and stuff knocking about sat on the grass above ground, probably sat there chewing on one of the lambs from that same bloody field. 1 Quote Link to post
