Very sad that mate. Shit like this just takes time I allways enjoyed admiring pictures of him.well before I got my pup I wanted a dog like him . I bet once he got hold of something the was no hope for his quarry atb mate gone but not forgotten

So sad for a strong dog to go like that. Reminds me of when I lost my Beardie lurcher many years ago. She had been on an incredibly long run, came back, seemed fine, ate her supper as normal, and died in her sleep at the foot of my bed that night. Just whined a couple of times, I thought she was dreaming. I wonder something like that can be a blood clot, maybe from many years before, stirred up and getting lodged in the heart or brain. Just a thought.

Thats my guess too. I suspect congestive heart failure due to an clot, Could have PM but it will not change anything. Just put it down as part of lifes rough tapestry

Cheers bud. he was no world beater. Just a good honest dog who tried his damnedest. We just clicked. I expected him to be carried off the field on his shield. He read the last rites to another that morning. the next I had to do it to him. But we carry on, 2 others still to keep me keep on keeping on

A lot of the bull breads have genetic heart conditions especially the larger breeds life expectancy is not as long as some of the breeds just something that has become apparent to me over the years. Sorry for your loss, part of life as you rightly said.
