So sad for a strong dog to go like that. Reminds me of when I lost my Beardie lurcher many years ago. She had been on an incredibly long run, came back, seemed fine, ate her supper as normal, and died in her sleep at the foot of my bed that night. Just whined a couple of times, I thought she was dreaming. I wonder something like that can be a blood clot, maybe from many years before, stirred up and getting lodged in the heart or brain. Just a thought.
