ad22 1
Hi, so after watching the warrener's old way of the poacher and seeing him do his hare calling, I was wondering who can call hares? Does it work? Do any of the predator calls that you can buy eg. jackrabbit, rabbit/hare screamer, etc. work for calling hares what is the best hare call or is it something you must learn to do on your hand ? Can any people do it on their hands and if so, any tips? I have been practicing and i am starting to make some similar sounds but wouldn't say i was there. Look forward to hearing about this. suluki 2
we where out coursing a few years back! and we had just walked a few fields without having a run heading back to the car. we had let the dogs off the leads for a strech we had 2 older coursing dogs and three pups 1 at 11months and 2 at 6months one of the lads spoted a half grown hare in its seat no more than 50yards from the car we tryed to get the dogs back on the leads so we could run the pup, but the hare lifted before we could do so and one of the older dogs snaped it strait up. when the liveret squiled a full grown hare run at us full steam. and if it couldnt have got any worse the only dogs to spot the full grown hare where the two six month old pups and off they went. so calling hares is easy, make a squiling liveret noise!! how ever you do that!! Guest Frank
I call them quiet often with the palm of my hand, it seems to work better in the spring, great way to get close to them.
