Hw100 Wont Stay Zeroed

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

Basically had the same issue twice now, first time I didnt think too much of it but twice in a row is just weird!

Basically I got my rifle out about a month ago, it having been in the safe for two weeks, and it was spot on at 30yards when I put it away. Well when I got to my rabbit perm I gave it a test and it was shooting about 3inch over the target! now I just assumed it was down to a knock in the car- However, I had the gun on my lap the whole way and its literally a 2 or 3 minute drive, so I had my doubts but as I said just didnt think too much of it!

So, re-zeroed it and put it away. I came home at the weekend and fancied a shoot, so got it out and once again it was shooting a few inches over the target?! Now i know youre probably thinking Ive knocked it putting it into the safe but im sure I didnt as I was very careful putting it in after it was off last time!

So Ive re-zeroed it and I even tightened up the holder on the scope (Not that it was lose anyway) but Im just worried its going to do it again next time I get it out!

( Just a side note the gun had different levels of air in between both of these shoots however I believe the amount of air per shot is regulated and not dependant on overall air level anyway? because a friend suggested that the power could be different but I didnt think so? )

Any help would be great or just any general thoughts or ideas?

Muttley

This is just a thought mind Muttly   but is your safe any where near a rad in you home or is the room you have it in warm   just asking as the heat of the room may affect the rifle as we all no w

I have owned several hw100 and have never had any kind of hold sensitivity with any off them........i would not rest the cylinder on anything though i would however float the barrel can be as simple

I found I got zero variations when filling my hw100 when using a pump. Apparently the air gets very hot when using a pump and this distorts the airtube (very small amount) and this in turn moves the b

Have your crono'd it at the time its shooting high and then at the time it's zeroed? I personally dont think its the scope at all, but could be wrong of course. Your not using a mixed up pellet batch are you? Even the tins of the same brand do need re zero'ing.

Im surprised no ones replied more to be fair, but lets be honest, the HW100 among this lot could rape a load of women and still be a saint. Whereas if you had a Daystate, it'd be seconds before someone was on this thread bangin on about how shit they are.

Thats because they are

you should all ways zero your rifle any way every trip out whether its not been knocked or not

and once you zero your scopes dose it hold zero for the rest of the shoot IE, the rest of the time your out

and what scope is fitted to it

It might be the scope and not the gun and i am sure it would be the same with a daystate gun A bit of a unfair comment young Rez

Put the 100 over a chronograph and see what fps spread is , it could be a dodgy scope , is the barrel lose ?

What Scope is it

I haven't got a chronograph but will look about getting one and give that a go if this continues! Yes I do always check it Mac, just Im not used to having to do a complete rezero, especially when its been locked in a safe where in theory it shouldnt be touched, knocked or moved about at all so shouldnt change?

Ive got a NikkoStirling panamax 3-9X40 and yes the zero holds while in use, Ive checked it at the start and end of the day plus the rabbits check it throughout the day ;)

Barrel and silencer are both tight

Could you potentially take it back to the RFD if its only a month old? Assuming its brand spank. Just a little cronbo jobby will do to show you any shift if you do get your own crony. All the best with it. It is annoying when things like this happen. They play on your mind somewhat.

Just aim lower when you get it out the slip :)

just asking as the heat of the room may affect the rifle as we all no weather affect's the rifles and it may be just that its the change in temperature thats affecting the zero
