I got stopped some years back, driving an old motor home that had been off the road for years, dvla attempted to recover back tax for quite a few years, but after a few visits in front of the local beak, and much manipulation of the truth by said dvla, they were awarded one days back tax, which at the time was about £8 with costs,as they could only prove it was on the road for one day, it was worth the three days of work I missed just to see there main prosecutors face as she grabbed her folders and left the court rather hastily amid howls of laughter from the public gallery, Haymin if you do end up owning the car better not to register it until it's going on the road or your selling it as you still have to have insurance now even if sorned off road, good luck with your purchase it's a rare gem
