Lutra Lutra 611
A hawk for the bush budharley, I can remember reading Mavro's Hawk for a Bush when I was just 15 years of age. Also wanted his other great book, A Falcon in the Field but was far too expensive for a lad of my age. Nowadays things have changed. I have 2 1st editions of Falcon in the Field, both very good condition and one is signed. Plus I perhaps have the finest 1st edition copy of Hawk for A Bush in the country. pesky1972 5,335
Read a lot of the books already mentioned. All of Dahl's books, Danny being my favourite. Jesus Boots, Under Goliath were school reading staples. Plummer, Harcombe, Drabble. Read a fiction book once about an old terrierman on the Fells who'd fallen out with the local hunt. One of their hounds followed a fox to ground in a drain type thing and they had to come and ask the old man to bring his dog to help get it out. His old dog succeeded but died after. Anyone know it & what it's called?
