It can be a hard thing not to spoil a dog that lives inside with you, even if you live in a shotgun shack

And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you my ask yourself .....
Well...How did I get here?

On the road to nowhere, all you psycho killers

This bitch is happy by the fire...     Or in her bed...     On the sofa...     Or in the field...

I like a dog about the house at times, every pup we get has a stint in the house..I think it really helps with the bond between dog and handler and it gives em great confidence from the very start.....

Your prob. Right about that as oils are lost.but mine not bathed very often lol Rather like me :-)

In or out will not make a difference to your dogs performance. We should be exercising our dogs daily in all weathers without fail, do they stop hunting up when it's cold, snowing and raining? No, however weather can effect the dogs scenting but that's another story..

Some owners will not have a choice where their dogs live, either way I wouldn't worry too much about it. You will never soften your dog by allowing it to live inside.

I house train all the pups I take on, its nice of on an evening to let them in, and not worry about the carpet, and if there's and injury or invalid them keeping an eye on them is easier if they are in the house. Also when they get old I like to have them in the house for a before they take that last stroll down the garden, but then I'm a softy!

I want a kennel but our lass thinks it's cruel because we already have a inside dog haha. I just wanted people's opinions on if they would get on ok, I know how jealous lurchers can get.

depends on the lurcher I have a friend who lost 2 terriers to a jealous collie x it climbed out a roofless pen and killed them in the yard after he had returned with them from a walk the dog had never shown dog aggression before so he put it down to jealousy. To make things worse they were his wife's yorkies Edited by leethedog

I disagree. If your level of hygiene is good then your house won't smell at all.

The smell of carpets and dogs is dreadful, especially when one doesn't clean or uses sprays and detergents to mask the smells. Hoovering and airing your house daily is more than enough, but never use air fresheners unless you like the smell of sewers!

If the owner is a lazy sod then I totaly agree mud.but if kept clean a smelly house ain't to much of a problem .

After every walk if the dogs have mud on legs under neath them.then they got hosed down outside every time.

And towel dry.and showered at least twice a week using dettol soap.blankets in there cages are washed and dryed every 3 days.bowls scrubbed water bowls scrubbed daily. cage tray washed when bedding is washed.

nothing worse than smelly dogs lol.

And the wife brushes them down outside everyday.

The only down side to all that washing.is there coats don't shine but I can live with that.
