Dehydration Advice/help

Alright guys just a quick question my dogs piss seems to be very dark after a run and he dosent seem to drink much water compered to my staffy i change his water a few times a day so his waters allway clean and fresh , So I was wondering is there anything I can give or put in is food him to rehydrate him any advice would be much appreciated cheers guys

My dog piss was dark on raw, never drank much off it. Now give him abit of kibble a day which in turn makes him drink a lot more, his piss is a lot clearer now.

You can add fluid to your dogs dinner. .

 

If They are thirsty they will drink.

 

When feeding complete or raw diet, I add a pint of water to the dogs meal.

 

When dogs are on dry they always are drinking lots of water..

His brothers piss is darkish yellow all the time mate.first piss in the morning is obviously the darkest of the day.the same as us.

He's on raw with a little dry.

And half way through a 5hr walk or even after a walk his piss is still a darkish colour.

He's fit and healthy.drinks plenty of stream water and runs all day.

Yellow piss is normal mate.

A lot of people comment on how little my dog drinks. He is on raw and never fed kibble so he gets a lot from that. He always has fresh water at hand but we rarely see him drink it. I add water to his raw and let it soak for a bit. I also give him watered down goats milk and he will lap that up. As said if they are thirsty they will drink. ATB.

As said above,just soak his food and let it stand for a while before giving it to him.That way he`ll get the extra liquid intake.

I feed lamb breast, chicken carcass etc so abit hard adding water to that so a hand full of kibble a day soaked in warm water, plus it makes him drink more. His coat looks better, piss is better too. Gotta have some more benefits in well being?

Try leaving a bowl out side to fill with rain water, lot of shit gets put in our tap water IE fluride chlorine chemicals that smell wrong to your dog, that said mine drinks tap water as he has dry feed as well as raw. But given the choice he would rather puddle water or river stream lake ditch think he only drinks tap water when he has no choice.

I got told boiling the water does away with the crap? That's what I do if I have enough time that day

Used that for my old terriers they had skin problems homeopathic vet advised that but the little bits used to eat it and boy did it give them the shits:)

He's on a raw diet with a mix of red mills racer he pisses fine just after a run he pees a dark yellow nearly orange

 

I'll start adding more water to his food and I'll try a different water bowl he's got a metal so I'll switch it to a plastic one cheers guys
