neil cooney 10,416
I don't know about you's but it turns my stomach anyway when I see someone kissing a dog or letting a dog lick you and even worse when I see a dog licking someones face. You don't have to be out ratting etc. for a dog to pass germs on to you, after all they all lick their own arses. If dogs and kids are going to mix then the kids need training as much as the dog does as to what right and what's not. I'm not even a fan of the likes of that photo (no disrespect Hjckcff) because no matter how fast you think you are if that terrier snapped it could scar a baby for life before you know it. Kids messing with dogs can make the quietest dog bite. 5 Quote Link to post

Kids messing with dogs can make the quietest dog bite. totally agree with this. Number of times I have said that to misus. doesnt matter if you are sat with em, itll be over before you know whats happenin. My terrior bit my niece a couple of years ago....after my sister (mother to the victim) let it out the house when I said not to. Anoying thing was as soon as I came back out side and saw him I could see what was guna happen by his body language but before I could get over it was done. fortunately it was on her arm not her face or anything and he didnt break the skin but still not good. Of course I cracked him picked him up by the scruff and launched him back in the house then I was the arsehole 1. because my dog bit someone 2. because I mistreat him afterwards?! long story short I dont TRUST any dog with my little girl. the dogs live in but go no further than the kitchen when the little un is up. Nicest dog in the world is guna bite when it has a finger in its eye or a barbie doll shuved up its arse 1 Quote Link to post
hjckcff 1,738
i dont trust any dog. . but the dogs and kids get socialised under supervision. to teach both of them the manners they need. any dog could bite. i was brought up with dogs so was my kids and the grandkids will get the same . i also wouldnt let a dog near a little person straight from the fields.. maybe i'm wrong and should just stick an i.phone in there little mitts these two grew up together. IMG_0296.JPG I agree. Personally I'm all for kids and animals together and if one of my own ever got bitten it was usually their fault, not the dogs. Unfortunately when it's someone else's kid who's bitten it's the dog who pays the price. Nor have I a germ phobia. I reckon half the illnesses about nowadays are because we've become too clean and have less resistance to disease etc. but I draw the line with dog arse bacteria and potential Weils disease. 4 Quote Link to post
lurcherman 887 13,248
A RATTER has no place on the sofa 2 Quote Link to post
timmy k 591
No dog has a place on the sofa. One thing I can't stand is when people have dogs in their bed, allowed to roam where ever and in what ever. If a dogs got to be inside fine, but give it a corner with its own bed so it knows it's place. I think alot of bites comes from dogs that don't know their place in the pecking order. 5 Quote Link to post

s.e.s.k.u 1,893
My dogs are kennelled outside but occasionally they are inside mainly to please my little lad .. He knows the ground rules no letting the dogs on the sofa and not to let the dog lick his face.. I wouldn't trust them to be left alone together no matter how well they seem to get along..
