Golly Bred Bull X

In the good old days pups were tied to Rams for a day or two to teach them respect for sheep I was once told.

you mean the barbaric days...
Depends how long rope was used
doesn't depend on anything if the poor f##ker was tied to it for 1/2 days as you say!!

I wouldnt tie a dog to a ram but i put my mums bullmastiff in the sheep pens with a few of my rams and it never looked at sheep again.

Before then it would try to kill a sheep soon as it looked it.

Best way to stop a dog stock worrying is to get off your arse when it's a pup and get it out amongst livestock everyday.

Are you 'avin' a turkish?????

I personally quite like the dogsd I've seen that have bloodf in them going back to golly ,in preban days if a dog was taking a lot of deer it would be better to asume it wouldn't be great with sheep,n

What if someone has done that though ?

I've had Terriers, bull crosses and various bull breeds over the last 25yrs and never had one from a pup that I haven't been able to walk or run loose through stock using that method.

All mine hunt through sheep not a problem all got bull in them ! Pups 3 months old seen sheep and lambs everyday since 8 weeks at first she run up to them to play ! Ewes with lambs stand their ground pup straight back not bothered ! Find it easier with already stock broken dogs the pup seems to realise the other aren't bothered
