Id not have terriers bushing at night, its hard enough to keep control and eyes on in daylight,in some locations i could see the benefits,a risk to far for me though. 1 Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
Could end up with a lurcher picking up a terrier on the beam Quote Link to post

Anything is a possibility. Some lurchers are tunnel vision and chase anything thats in the beam. If that terrier crosses the beam its a possibility that a lurcher could try and pick it up. Not worth trying it out. Quote Link to post

flynnsdogs4 3
I think if the terrier and lurchers worked together by day, there would be no problem by night.Ill try and post results and pics in the coming weeks Quote Link to post
Plucky1 1,119
My last walk every night consists of at least 3 terriers,a lurcher and my lamp, never had any problems and they catch quite a lot, I've also lamped a terrier on its own on rabbits, she caught 3 out of 4 so nothing unusual round here,WM 1 Quote Link to post
matt1979 766
Often walk with the terrier and lurcher and lamp late evening and cant say I haven't had any issues as the terrier regularly disappears into cover only to reappear several minutes later. Achieves the aim of knackering them Out though and have caught some bits and bobs when out. Got to be sensible about where you trudge with them though and helps if the terrier is too ignorant atb Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
And no ones's pointed out to this newbie that the reason one lamps is because that's when the quarry is out away from it's refuge. Hence the reason for the lamp. Bushing during the day is to get the quarry to leave it's refuge. The only practical use of combining a lamp and terriers is when ratting, or a dig going into the night. 1 Quote Link to post
