Nice silent mark no digging just a stare

Cant miss the mark with this one started marking as soon as he had had his jabs and was up and about.

A good marking dog is worth it's weight in gold, no matter what type of dog. They can come in all shapes and sizes and save hrs of unnecessary netting. They are all different and mark in different wa

Don't know if any of you lads done a bit of ratting or not, but my terriers behavior changes with marking them, much the same as your Russell brainy. Collie and lurcher just mark solid same as for rabbits. Terrier certainly goes up a gear or two.

Rabbit numbers have not been great for quite some time. What i like about this dog is he leaves no stone unturned so to speak. He never stops searching checking works close to me if a burrow is occupied he will find it.

No more likes darbo, he is the type i would very much consider as an addition for myself. Ive always liked the Beddy types, never actually seen one in action though, they just appeal to me. From what i have seen on posts from other owners, they seem to be handy, all round types of dogs, wether above or below, general mouching and even shooting for flushing retrieving.

Could be difficult to source good types though.

Aint that the truth with a lot of working dogs these days especially bedlingtons im sure there are some honest souls around who tell the truth about their dogs. As ive said before the big downside is the dogs coat but im sure there are some good coated ones around. Training wise he was what i would call mule headed took a lot of patience. Nose work/work cover/ hunt up im very happy with. working below ive never done so i suppose i dont ask too much of the dog to be honest but he does what i require catches a bit of fur and feather now and again marks well and is good as gold around the ferrets.

Same here LOL,, hate ferreting without the dog,,although we been getting good numbers this winter,,some places still are not that productive,,so you need a marker,,,my border terrier,,has her head right in the hole,,,and draws in great breaths of air,,and snorts,,like a trumpet,,,

The young lurcher has two marks,,,the typical head in the hole,,then just looking at the hole,,,,her other Mark ,,is going from hole to hole,,but staying on the same warren,,

When she does the looking at one hole "Mark".... put the ferret in there cos you can garrantee its going to conect streight away

Get my young lurchers out as soon as i can on open ground. If they show intrest in a warren throw the ferret in no nets if rabbits bolt let the dog have a run. They soon put it together if they use there nose and find a rabbit they get a run.
