grompz 703
is it just me, but every year about now, there seems to be a lot of dogs and saplings put up for sale, some for sensible money and some for ridicolous prices, the way i see it is alot of these sellers, have either ruined these dogs by bad, training, run them too hard too young, or just cant be arsed tokeep them and feed them over the summer months, i know that some just regard there lurchers as ten a penny, but surely if you have put the time and effort into your dogs you wouldnt just cast them off at the end of each season, for abit of ale money,my dogs are not world beaters by any standards, but they are here to stay and the money isnt what its about, like the old saying if you got a good dog keep him people dont usually sell good dogs, what with the scarcity of rabbits in areas at the moment, there wil be lots of dogs joining the lurcher carousel in the next few years. 1 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I don't know how lads do it. I've had an older dog "on trial" in the past and given it back to the lad when it wasnt what I wanted. And I had a bushing terrier which was useless so gave it to a bloke I worked with as a pet for his disabled missus. It's still with him 3 years on. But I couldn't raise a dog from a pup, put all that time into it and then just let it go. Even if it wasn't doing the job I would have to put it to sleep. I couldn't be forever wondering where the dog was. Maybe I'm a soppy f****r. I love my dogs and get a bit attatched. 10 Quote Link to post

She wasn't the best working dog either, but might of suited a lot of people..but I couldn't bring myself to rehome it, just incase she got abused, bred litter after litter etc. so although I was gutted doing it I thought it was the best solution. 1 Quote Link to post

davey 310
If no good puts sad very sad but you have to be tough and not let the dog get passed about unless you have a good pet home for it to go to pts and yes I've had to make that heart wrenching decision 1 Quote Link to post
low plains drifter 10,727
There is any amount of lurchers of all ages for sale at all sorts of prices all year round, cannot see that changing, not when there are people buying lurchers because they are bored, or they feel like a short break from the games console, rabbit shortage or not Quote Link to post
Dan McDonough 560
There are some folks that just don't see dogs the same way. Some people have it in their own breeding to have love for their dogs and some just don't. There is nothing you can do to change that so why get on here and make another animal rights commercial? You guys got to be a little smarter about things and see the big picture. This thread is just foolish. 1 Quote Link to post
