ryaldinhio 5,017
Long story short I think I have left it to late for splitting my hob from my jills. I havent seen any signs of the girls being in season though I am an ametuer (I was expecting swollen back end and spottin) so I left him in with them. I have been up today and one of the jills looks like he has been having her by the neck can tell by her fur, so maybe hes been on the job? I have now put him on his own in a seperate hutch. Is it to early for them to breed sucessfully? Is there a way to tell if she is pregnant or is it just wait and see? Should I put her on her own for protection from the other jills? Quote Link to post
The one 8,533
Problem is your hob will be in season if his testes have dropped and if your Jill's not in season he will rape her as you have found out I had to take my young hob out from the Jill's as he's in season and there no he thought his luck was in and he was Jack the Fecking lad Quote Link to post

krawnden 1,036
Doubt she'll be pregnant if she's not properly in season yet. You'll know when she is - vulva swells up to almost the diameter of a 1p piece. Lots of people put pregnant jills in a separate cage, but of the 4 litters I've bred I've only done it once. The other 3 times all the kits were reared no bother - the other jills helped play nursemaid. (Mind you, these were always in big cages with plenty of room.) Quote Link to post

Thats what I was expectin with the swelling. If this is the sign of being in season then none of my three jills are in season yet. Hob looks like he has swallowed a couple of golf balls though and they have ended up between his back legs! Quote Link to post
