Not now but the first lurcher I ever had was bred this way. IMO they would still suit a lot of lads. Mine had huge prey drive and was quite trainable. She would have a good go at whatever she ran at b

The bigger of the two is the cross you mention my first lurcher as well

The last 4 Hancock dogs I've seen have been real poor,,,and I'm talking about really struggling to catch a rabbit,,,two were half crosses,,,one a 3/4 grey,,,I forget the % of the fourth.....   Lads

So you never worked them? Just taken breeders word? How many greyhounds do you think get worked before added to lurcher lines? In a perfect world maybe, so you've got 5th gen bred bull? Fancy sharing your thoughts on them and there breeding, not many can say they have gto decent bullX with that kinda breeding, much did those cost ye?

Is it possible to work a 7 month old pup katchum.

And is it possible to really test a 11 month old dog.

I will say this I've talked to plenty of lads who have owned and worked.both lines of the dogs I've got here now going back yrs and yrs.

And how much they cost me is my business.

But I recon I've got a lot more chance of these 2 dogs doing what I want next season.

Than if I bought them from non working dogs.

Would u buy a pup from NON working parents.

Are they golly line dogs you own?
is it golly line that got saluki in aswell? May be wrong

You're not wrong

Think your on about a dog called billy mate
He doesent know what he is on about jeppi.his best bet is to get up hancocks and hand over 300 notes

Personally, I think anyone that gets a pup from hancock has more chance of the pup making a half decent worker, than people like you getting a pup from supposedly 'shit hot' bull x 'golly blah bla blah' bred slow, useless lumps of shite, which incidentally, does have saluki in the line as well lol, OH NO! :o lol

Who said shit hot bull X.if you believe buying a pup from a very well known puppy peddler that breeds from un worked parents and then sells them pups for £300.

Is better than buying a pup from working parents then crack on fella lol.

It's a strange 1 you say that on the terrier section.

I would rather buy a pup for 300 from a peddler that breeds from non workers and take my chance.

You wouldn't be taken serious for the rest of your days on here.

and seeing the like comment from katchum above says To me.

He either believes that doing that is the right way to go or he's just trying his little man ganging up scenario

I think it's the first.

But am I doing wrong buying from workers ?

Right I will sell my 2 dogs from working parents and go and buy some pups from non workers maybe then I can waste the precious yrs I've got left on this planet with my fingers crossed hopeing I'm going about it the right way.

Is a jacker perhaps a dog that has unfortunately got too much brain, then entered too much too soon ?

Just saying because mate has had a few cast offs said to be shit but with patience and time have turned out superb all rounders

If people want instant results then they might be better of with a gun :)

Reckon it's more about the owner than the dog, wether it's Hancock bred or any of the other so called shit breeders

worker to worker train up quicker perhaps, but also have inherent traits that we wanted twenty year ago maybe.

However current climate as it is these traits can be a pain in the arse.

King, let's get something straight here. I couldn't give two fucks who takes me serious on here, if u got your dogs to impress others then more fool you. I know what I do and get upto, and that's not slagging people off on here like you. be interested to see all your posts next season of your great big fat all rounders.

The last 4 Hancock dogs I've seen have been real poor,,,and I'm talking about really struggling to catch a rabbit,,,two were half crosses,,,one a 3/4 grey,,,I forget the % of the fourth.....

Lads that are wanting collie cross lurchers,,,wait and do your homework,,,there are lads out there breeding dogs,,generation bred,,from long lines or working dog,,

And don't be afraid if somewhere back in the pedigree ,,there's a bit of somthing else,,bedi,,deerhound,, whippet ect,

You got to take them blinkers off,,,believe me there blinding you...

So you slagging me off is OK then lol.if I get shit I will throw it back mate.

Ive got my dogs for me I will work my dogs 95% of the Time alone.

Just me and the dogs.and yea I will put some posts on here about the nights lamping on rabbits next season.

Maybe we could meet up next season and I will bring my least fat dog for a nights lamping.

And we can both laugh together when my dog misses every rabbit all night lol

As for reverse crosses,,,I don't get it....

Every lurcher needs some speed,,,to catch stuff,,,and them reverse crosses are going to get left behind,,,no point in going more than 1/2 cross,,,in fact I think that's two much...

Most lurchers with a bit of collie are bright as buttons,,,and learn quick and can do anything a half cross can,,,,possibly with the exception of working a gate net in the true way,,,,but how many lads do that?

Then other chaps say ,,,you loose staminar going more running dog than half cros,,,really? I've yet to see that,,,

Other than that I don't know or see any collie x litters going about anywhere and if there are you can bet your bottom dollar people AINT wanting strange hands on them lol
