Not now but the first lurcher I ever had was bred this way. IMO they would still suit a lot of lads. Mine had huge prey drive and was quite trainable. She would have a good go at whatever she ran at b

The bigger of the two is the cross you mention my first lurcher as well

The last 4 Hancock dogs I've seen have been real poor,,,and I'm talking about really struggling to catch a rabbit,,,two were half crosses,,,one a 3/4 grey,,,I forget the % of the fourth.....   Lads

She would have a good go at whatever she ran at but was a little short on stamina. Now if they're honest, most lads don't need 3 out of three coursing type stamina and the drive and enthusiasm of these types might suit them well. Mine was RHFD as they used to say. Just my opinion.

What was yours like NL.

I got a 3/4 bred on paper, but it's collie grey x collie grey x grey, so not quite a proper 3/4 bred in my eyes. Next dog will be 3/4 bred, can't wait.

Like you say maximus, how many lads need a 3 out of 3 dog, or fox dog that will take 10 a night 7 nights a week , or a rabbit dog that's capable of 100 a night, I know il never need such dog.

My first lurcher 1986 saw a fair few of this type in the 80s/90s . Trainable dogs good drive the nose on mine was very good maybe as MF says some suspect on the stamina side but i liked them.to be honest.

Id rather have a 3/4 collie 1/4 grey

I see hancock breeding a litter of 3/4 collies only one this year he reckons.

I seen that , thought thered be more of a demand from the agility lot for the cross but seems not

cant see one catching fast mice on arable though

You never know

if I did a lot of daytime walking you never know could have one in future. but to be honest 90% is lamping on big open arable land.

really pleased how my current dog has been hunting about during the day as iv never encouraged it until now. then I started thinking would it encourage him hunting up on lamp so popped out the other night had one rabbit and a good few misses, and was straight back. abit off topic lol

My very 1st lurcher was a 3/4 bred aswell, black bitch about 24tts, she done everything she was a proper all rounder, i was a young boy at the time so hunted from dawn till dusk 365 days a year, she was great hare bitch from local parks about here, my mate had her litter sister a brindle bitch, she was great hare bitch aswell and made bit of a name for herself back then
