Gaz_1989 9,539
My old company went the same way. It was part of the reason I left. Constantly logging jobs. Being checked up on. Filling in forms on a laptop. Logging in and out of buildings etc. Really got on my tits. But looking back the rest of the job was steady away and I was probably a bit hasty jacking it in. I'm earning a lot more money now but money isn't everything. The company car alone is worth its weight in gold. No insurance to pay, no fuel to fork out on, no tax or MOT. Not to mention full sick pay and paid holidays which I no longer get. Don't rush into anything mucka.

cragman 2,770
Our place is the same, trackers on vehicles, lone working log on and log out, scheduelling, cctv cameras all over the place, phones. I don't always put my tracker on, nowts been said yet. It'll take some watching 'cos there's 3 thousand company vehicles. They've put bar codes on assets to make sure you're carrying out your checks!?
dytkos 17,793
Trackers save the company money on insurance also. Cheers, D.
shepp 2,285
They are always leaning on the blokes making the company money, so that all the savings can get sucked up to the top.
king 11,972
Similar thing on heavy plant.through the vims plate. The office know where you are on site.your speed.what gear you are in.how long you been on stop for.how many loads you've done on the trucks. Bloody nuisance... dark-destroyer-85 636
Sure you can buy a thing to go in the fag lighter these days to stop the gps sending signal
The Seeker 3,048
Whats the problem if you're not skiving and putting in a shift then there should be no issues. The tracker should be disabled in your own private time if you are allowed the companies vehicle for private use. The card thing is a lone worker device, if you are a lone worker your employer has a duty of care to ensure you are safe. Again of your at work and doing nothing wrong this shouldn't effect you. Its better to carry this card than to be injured/capacitated and alone somewhere none knows where you are?
