lurchergrrl 1,441
Woke up feeling fed up and a bit low this morning. Couldn't be arsed, but I set off for a long-ish wander in the Trough of Bowland, thinking it would cheer me up. Crushed a suicidal pheasant along the way (utterly horrified). Torrential downpour came on just as I parked up. Made a start anyway. Quarter of the way up I discovered my waterproof no longer is. I was cold and soaked through, and I nearly jacked in a temper. Pressed on. Half way round, the rain stopped, the wind dropped, and there was nothing to hear but the river below me, the curlews above, and the stroppy calls of pheasants who weren't playing chicken on the road. That, and this view, is what I love about this country Sun came out just as I strolled up to my car, and the local food truck was fired up for a sausage and egg butty, so all my planets aligned in the end

Mickey Finn 3,016
Just a few pics from the North. The river is the South Branch of the Ausable River. Part of this stretch was once a private trout fishing club that was gifted to the state for public use. Now it's referred to as the Mason Tract and is as perfect an example of a Michigan trout stream as you'll find. Thanks for looking. Oh, and Happy Independence Day!
