Well my God Paddy, I bet you wish you'd never asked . Is there any chance of uploading pics of the rifle/scope set up to simplify the responses for you?

Failing that friend, you and I better go back to school so that we can understand how this has gone from simple lay-mans terms as per first replies from MC and myself to the complete and utter "University Challenge" bollox you're now getting :icon_eek: :laugh:

i know what you mean about shooting lft handed as i shoot left handed at clays.

 

but with the air rifle, if i mount the gun right handed i can see throught the scope, but when i mount it left handed i cant see a thing, its just like a mirror of what is behind me:S

 

allthought i think it is a left handed gun (what i want) as there is a grove for the palm of your trigger hand, if i put some pics up, would that be any help?

You just answered the question yourself........but when i mount it left handed i cant see a thing, its just like a mirror of what is behind me:...you are NOT looking down the tube...your eye alignment is out if you can see a reflection of what is behind you, you should not be able to see anything behind you at all because your eye/head should be right behind the tube!

I don't see there is any need for the "University Challenge bollox" bit, shooting is not all about picking up a gun and pulling the trigger (as this thread demonstrates). I am convinced this has a simple answer which is what I have said from the start...Paddy is simply not looking down the tube! Others may have learn something useful on the way but apparently not you.

Yep, That sounds about right if you can see a reflection in the eye piece you are not looking squarely down the tube.

 

Oh and Mad al, reckon you are a bit out of order, referring to peoples advice as "bollox". Folk are only trying to help and if sometimes that gets a tad too technical for you then I am sure people, my self included will be only too glad to help you join the dots. Advice on here is given freely and usually, it seems without prejudice but by adopting that attitude you are ensuring that should the day come when you need advice then you wont get it. !!

Dots? , so it's a mil dot scope.............gotcha , the point is you fellas have gone all around the swings to get to the roundabout, read from the beginning of the thread again S L O W L Y and you've ended up with what was said from the outset, can't see the point (or dot in this case) myself .

Yeh, thanks for that, just about managed it seeing as how it is not in joined up writing !! If YOU read the other threads, at any speed you feel comfortable, but try without moving your lips though! you will see that not withstanding the slightly elongated explanation on the effects of a canted rifle, no one disagrees with you. The thing is, all that happened is the guy ended up with a couple more options to look at, not to try and confuse or overwhelm him but to try and help him out of a fix. It may well be that none of the suggestions work but at least we have been constructive and tried to help.
