I think the main reason he was so pissed is because I thought I'd be a clever twat and call him a shellfish basted as you probably imagine he wasn't emused lol

Oh right, so that makes it ok then does it?   I have a licence and I do it legally, like I said, you broke the law and you cost me and other tax payers a load of money, and that ****** me off.   B

Well, it may seem a bit harsh I agree, but cross contamination of waters is a serious thing, our native Crays are really struggling, not saying you did, or are stupid enough to spread the signals, but

What do you want, sympathy, you just cost me and other tax payers a load of money, and that ****** me off!

Yes its daft, ridiculous and seemingly hardly in the public interest.

So perhaps you would be kind enough to get a licence, which costs nothing, rather than Joe Public having £7500 of tax wasted prosecuting you.

Thank you! :D

Every body thinks its easy to just go get a licence then bang your away catching kray fish it doesnt work like that you need land owners permission then you need to apply to the enviroment service to catch them them if there is any chance ov our own kray fish been in that river you might as well forget it ,so for that prick just saying go get a licence hes clueless go do some more research.

Breaking the law because its a bit inconvenient for you, and some land owners may say no is tuff, that's what the rest of us have to do. The Environment Agency licence/tags costs nothing, the licence is in place to protect our native crayfish, and asking permission is nothing new.

Strikes me you have no regard for conservation, the law or landowners.

Call me what you like, you are the inconsiderate one.

That's rich telling him to go do some research, your the one who didn't know you needed a licence that is free ! Yeah it's harsh what they done to you, and may not even be in the best interest to have prosecuted you, but that's the law pal, and had you done some research yourself you would have known that and could have avoided it all !

Am with decker on this, I researched it, I got the licence, and landowners permission, no reason not to do it.

Oh and for the record, it's easy to gain permission for crays, every fishing club in the country wants them gone, I have clubs approaching me asking to trap their stretches of water, and if they have bought the fishing rights then they can legally give you permission !

One of the waters I trap holds native crays, yet I still got permission from the EA, it's about knowing which one is what, so that doesn't automatically rule you out either
