Hello all does anybody no if the Wheaton crosses have decent noses I no any dog will hunt up if raised the right way but I was wondering if anybody had 1st hand experience with them hunting rough land threw the day any replies apreciated thanks

Any I seen would have a very good nose. A full bred wheaten is a great dog to hunt cover.

My pup has got an exceptional nose. She's collie bull grey X wheaten grey.

 

I suspect some of her nose and drive comes from the wheaten. Her sire (wheaten grey) also had a good nose.

Aww that's good to hear I have a young dog he'll be working with pointer greyhound crosses next year in he's day time work but I would like him to find he's own work up on the hill's thanks for your replys

Mines hasn't got the best nose an rather thick her stamina to hot neithers, for me she's a one trick pony but I have my freezer fillers an they're drive is far superior. She is good at what she does though,

No nose, stamina, thick and lacks preydrive, lol. Doesn't sound the best.

 

She's not joe a don't lie about what I keep, what she's useful for I don't like using my runners for. But the. I'm sure if most folk where to take the blinkers off they'd find flaws in all dogs

I have a bitch mustard in day work any cover smash through anything 110% in marking setts plenty of stamina and very good lamp dog pray drive beyond any other Lurcher I have had ,but she is bull X wheaten X grey

Good honest dogging lad,not all dogs are all a rounders but can still serve a good perpus. Some people expect to much out of dogs these days I think

he is 23inch tts. and 56 pounds. not as heavy as he looks to be fair. he was mostly used on the lamp and for ferreting and bushing.he does lack a gear for open ground but makes up for it in other ways.

 

 

 

this is him with less hair lol. as a knock about dog he has been ideal . the most durable dog ive ever owned. almost unbreakable.
