Any Of You Worked A Greyhound

Recommended Posts

Strange isn't it, but nature, a natural thing, you could get a greyhound, or whippet no training given and would naturally retrieve, live to hand rabbits, but would kill a hare, and leave it on the spot. Also very natural to to kill a fox, windpipe, instant

I owned a track bitch that retrieved rabbits from day one,it took me 6 months to get her jumping with ease, the amount of times she pursued to a gate or fence and waited for it to open, she never retrieved an hare and often let them go when they baby wailed.

Yes, I agree,..and it is downright cruelty to take a full grown canine athlete, such as an ex racer,...a jukel that has been trained, conditioned, cosseted and kept in the manner of a Spartan warrior,

It was a real shame mate as he was turning into a nice handy dog .....

I reared a nice wee bitch and used her for the roe and hares,...she fecked em up,..and I do mean, proper fecked..   Never gave the game away and told her, that she wasn't a lurcher,..and she never

i'd say 99% who have had dealings with bring a greyhound up have NOT had them from 9 weeks. a dog conditioned from a pup to use there gears is different from a dog bred and reared to race being pushed to have one flat out gear then brought into a field and expect it to not run as tho its race day. it become instinctive from the slip due to training they have from there trainers in the schooling phase. im still trying to sort a dvd for max soon as i can get it to him i get him to put some of it up. but they are not as robust as lurchers this is there ackiles heel
