mad4it 694
If you where in the market for a pcp rifle what would you choose. I myself am thinking about either a bsa ultra or a brocock compatto if i was going to go for a bull pup rifle the reason I am asking is my god son wants to start shooting air rifles, he is shooting a webley tracker at the moment and wants a new rifle fors his birthday and his dad is going to buy him one I took them to the gun shop and they tryed some rifle his dad was going to buy him at hatsan at44 I talked him out of it he now going to to watch reveiws to make up his mind he asked me what i would buy and I said the two above, so I asking you lads and lasses what you would buy I know a lot of you dont rate brocock and a lot of you rate the ultra. flynndog 543
S200 would be my choice for a small pcp I've never got on well with ultras 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Ultra out of the two or if he can up his budget a bit BSA r10 or my choice a HW100k Quote Link to post
mattwhite 1,993
Personally, out of the 2 you mentioned it would be the ultra hands down but a hw100 would be my first choice at the moment. Depending on when his birthday is, the new hw110 is coming out and is less money than its big sister. Quote Link to post
David Aiken 253
HW100k in .177 2 Quote Link to post

bigmac 97kt 13,786
You cant take any thing away from the ultra will stand with all the top rifles and match them shot for shot until it runs out of air and thats its bad point and its only bad point if your going to take him to the shooting range you will spend more time at the car filling it back up with air lol but out hunting its shot count is ok (as you dont shoot that many shots off ) My grandson uses a ultra when out hunting with me and vislauk to good effect but when we go to the range we take his springers not the ultra im sick of running back and forth filling the bloody thing lol by the way little hunter is 11yrs old atvbmac  2 Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
ultra for a young lad nice and light -I cant get away with the loading system but others are fine with it -new models are fine though -good luck mac Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,786
here you go bud as promised scorpion t10 and i have the marksman mod fitted to it and it makes the rifle whisper quiet when fired not much difference in size and wait but with a much better shot count atvbmac  Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,786
both so can see not much difference between the two atvbmac  Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,551
Ultra gets my nod over the 100 for a very young shooter of 10 yrs of age ( Weight). I have owned a brocock some moons ago and it was very good ( Contour) but the Brocock super 6 elite is worth looking at too,- full power, very light and outstanding accuracy, something does tell me about shot count though, so check that out. Best of luck with your choices. Quote Link to post
