mackay 3,391
Mate, I got a pair of Nikon 10 x 50 a few year back. Rubber coated and all you need for dodging about, durable and a good grip. If I remember rightly they were only about £140.00.

Born Hunter 17,780
Are a 2-300 quid pair of bins really much better than a 60-100 quid pair? I was using a pair of cheap 60 quid fixed focus 7x50s the other day and they were crystal clear and seemed well made for what they were. I was very impressed tbh. Now I doubt they would have been much use in demanding light conditions which is where your £600+ brands come into their own but for day use is it worth spending more? I'm in the market so it's something I've been pondering...... Think I'm favoring a compact pair of swaros or leicas for my needs but the quality of cheap 8x50s etc really got me thinking.
keepitcovert 842
Dont rule out a good second hand pair i picked up a pair of 10x50 carl zeiss jena jenoptem for a steal at £15 and the optics are crystal clear, plenty of zeiss on ebay.

Got me a pair of Zeiss Conquests, have to say they are incredible and IMO as good as Swarovski, Leicas which are twice the price. Give them a go mate

This is why I asked for recommendations, there does seem some really good bino's for not much money, so I'm pondering too, just got to get out there and try a few pairs and see what's what I think.
