Hi mate,

Sorry for my ignorance, its just i read the albino ferret was originally bred from domesticated polecats so it was easier to spot in the field and was also smaller due to breeding preferences.

But now as more and more people keep them as pets the polecat marking are becoming popular again.

Are all the ferrets with the polecat markings big?

I'm yet to see a small polecat coloured hob. Not saying they don't exist. But like "lurchers" says, they are normally massive.

Cool, look forward to seeing them.

Appreciate all the feedback guys, so much to learn but really enjoying learning about these amazing animals.

Edit: Should I be asking about a sable ferret for polecat markings? Are they the same thing?

Just read that ferrets with polecat markings are called sable, is this correct?

A mate of mine had two small polecat hobs that were out of the same litter, and a few years back I had one that I would say was medium size.

I have a small poley Jill if it's any use to you?her and her siblings bolted nearly 300 rabbits on our annual trip to the highlands September gone.I'm only 20 mile from you pal,they fast jills and don't kill in unless there's two or more of them in a stop end with the rabbit.dug a hob from same litter at 10 ft to his rabbit lol.atb dc

Had plenty smaller types with polecat markings. You get big and small versions of all types of ferrets

Hi Daniel, very kind of you to offer but have my heart set on a hob now. Also still looking for a two tier hutch or a single tier with run if you know of any.

Any chance when the hunting season comes back round of tagging along when you go a ferreting?
