Some Different Pellet Groups,

Recommended Posts

Had a bit of time this morning so dug out my pellet "collection" and thought I'd see how they grouped, these are all 6 shot groups except the accupell, that was 3,only zerod once and no barrel cleaning or anything just loaded up each pellet type and shot a group, only around 15 yards and I know they can be improved etc but just thought I'd have an hour then share...

The accupell ony say .22,5.5mm on the tin,the penetrators were given to me so only know they're 16 grain, the intercepters were a 2" group! Nothing conclusive just a mess around in the garden to kill an hour

I'm trying to get some time up a farm to get the distance out further and I've yet to try jsb's,been using 15/16 grain and doing OK but think I'll go back to 14 now, don't know why just seem to be more confident in them...

Here are some results I did a few weeks ago in the garden, nothing more than something to do one day and although the cards say 15yds, it was 15mt which is not much difference but there you go.

I only have a cottage garden and have not tried this at any real distances because of wind conditions on the days I have been free. There is a new range in Doncaster which is at 45mt so I will make a phone call to establish if I can do some more testing there. Also heard that North Cotes Butts in Lincolnshire has a large indoor range and again will look into that for testing pellets.

Hw100 KT, .177, 15mts range with little to no wind. Each group is a full magazine of 14 shots. All the pellets were weighed before testing so the weights shown are taken from my scales, not the tins.

Little hunter is doing a great job there Mac, taking after grandad me thinks......

15mts is the max I can shoot in the garden, it is just a cottage with a cottage garden. A pity I am not in my last house, it had a half acre garden and it felt like I had moved into a postage stamp when I first moved here but an expensive barn conversion, triple garage, caravan parking area and a huge garden is not what I wanted for my retirement (no mortgage) although I do miss cutting the grass on my garden tractor........................big kid really, my friend used to call it 'Phil's Tonka toy'.
