Hi From South Wales

Recommended Posts

Hi all, new to the forum and looking to get my first ferret's. Always been a bit of a hunter gatherer, I like to collect wild foods including plants, shellfish, crab, prawn and I even make my own lavabread (edible seaweed). I used to hunt rabbit with an air riffle but had to sell that a few years ago. Also started Kayak angling last summer and love it.

For the past few years I have suffered with PTSD it's been a hard battle but last summer I started to break out of the hole it had trapped me in.

Unfortunately, since the end of last summer and over the winter period I have started struggling with my PTSD again. I'm determined not to get dragged down once again and keeping busy is always good therapy.

After reading an article about the historical use of ferrets/polecats and nets used to hunt rabbit going back to around the 14 century it really grabbed my interest.

So, I thought I'd give it a go, so plenty of beginners questions will be coming soon.

I have a very large cage that would be they're indoor house for the winter and will build or try and purchase a hutch type for the garden and summer.

Look forward to learning more about ferrets and hopefully make some new friends in the community.

Robbie

Hi. Welcome to THL site from West Wales. Sure the guys will help you out with all your questions. Just a quick one ferrets are happy enough kept outside as long as they have bedding and a waterproof hutch or shed. If indoors tend to niff a bit.

The room I was going to put them in is on the ground floor by my front door, I live upstairs in a flat. But yea, they do stink a bit I know lol.

Got a decent garden so will make then a nice big hutch or shed :)
