HoneyBee 9
Hi everyone I'm a 24-year-old young lady from Leicestershire, currently owned by an elderly Westie who used to hunt with my Grandmother - dog once took a Pheasant straight out of the hedge before it had a chance to take off! The other dog is a four-year-old Caucasian Ovcharka male, he's a big boy weighing in at nearly 13 stone. Oh and I have 5 cats. I used to ride out with the hunt when I was younger but had to give up due to education, just starting to get back into it now and hoping to learn side saddle. I grew up with rescue dogs and have helped train dogs with severe aggression issues, however, I am hoping to add a Norwegian Elkhound to the family this year. Always been surrounded by people who have hunted - in all its variations! I love a good Game Fair, Agricultural Fair, Dog Show etc etc. I really can't think of anything else to say

Lutra Lutra 611
Hello Honey Bee, I read your introduction with interest on certain aspects. Regarding the dogs. My attention was caught when you mentioned you had a Caucasian Ovcharka. For myself I do of course love terriers first, and I mean all terriers. Some people may wrongly think that I have no time for black terriers, coloured terriers or anything that isn't a Jack Russell. That would be incorrect due to myself seeing many other different terriers which have been good working dogs underground. Apologies, back to the Ovcharka, a friend of mine who lives in the Netherland near to Groningen keeps the same type dog. Over the years spent at his place I got to like these dogs also; especially due to their massive size. Another friend who lives in the uk keeps the Anatolian Sheperd, I like these breeds also..... Also I read with interest about you wanting to learn riding side saddle. Wonderful! I have on many occasions while following hounds watched the (ladies) riding side saddle. So for now hoping you enjoy correspondence with many others who share the same interests. Regards, Lutra ....

I love the Ovcharka breeds, ours was a bit of an accident his original owners brought him at 12 weeks and had him for 3 weeks before deciding they couldn't cope and he came to live here. I quite fancy the South Russian Ovcharka or maybe a Romanian Mioritic Shepherd in the future but not just yet.

Just thought I'd add on the subject of terriers that my grandfather used to have a really odd terrier mix that he took hunting - a Kerry Blue x Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Cocker Spaniel. He swore blind it was the best dog he ever had!
