A Mooch With Duke, The Pup And The Ferrets

Recommended Posts

Had a mooch today with my young ferret kit and her mum, I took my lurcher duke and rew came along with his pup bud, we had a good few runs and some good catches with duke all in view for the up n coming pup, one run in particular was a good course, the rabbits was snaking down a dirt track with duke hot on its heels, the rabbit was squealing before he took aim and striked with a good catch, I was impressed with the kit I bred she was working the sets well, even remaining attached to a bolting rabbit for a few seconds lol, all in all was good fun and the younguns enjoyed it

It was a productive few hours playing with my new camera. The first warren had rabbits bolting all over the place and were tricky ones to catch but we managed 4 and got the ferrets out just as the young rabbits started showing. I couldn't believe how excited my pup was, he sure knew what was coming after our last ferreting session a few weeks back. I will be spending the next few weekends ferreting with him tomo. I reckon its the best way to start them off, teaches them loads. Its how I started Gem and I couldn't ask for a better ferreting dog than her. Duke did well too as expected, made some brilliant catches and can get under hedge like any terrier which isn't bad for a 26inch dog. Plus nottzhunters young ferrets worked a treat and handled very well.
