jeemes 4,498
I meant do same job an more, not better. I'm talking a fractions of a second here between them killing summat, a good bullx hardly struggles so yeah it's doing same job, and some bullxs are as big and powerful as a aluant anyways And some alaunts are as racy or racier than bull crosses. So where does one stop and one begin?, they're all bull types at the end of the day and the size, weight and shape of the dog will have more bearing on its capabilities than how it is actually bred. If you really believe what you have just said you really need to think again mate. Not point scoring or trying to make you look silly but the truth is exactly the opposite of what you said. A good conformation without a working heart and brain is a useless tool indeed. You can give it what bullshit name you like but unless its got a good measure of the real thing inits blood it wont be upto much no matter what it looks like. Breeding is everything..and the pit bull is the only bull breed worth having in a bull/greyhound cross. Edited February 28, 2016 by jeemes 8 Quote Link to post

Breeding is everything..and the pit bull is the only bull breed worth having in a bull/greyhound cross. What type of bull terrier do you think was used in the original alaunts makeup?. To the best of my knowledge it has been predominately bull and greyhound added to what people are calling alaunts for the last few generations. I'm not aware of any further infusion of bullmastiff and the only way bullmastiff blood would be in the mix would be from breeding from dogs that are directly descended from the ones Brian Plummer bred, even then the mastiff contribution now would be minimal. So you'll forgive me if I call them all bull crosses. In my original post I was talking size, shape and how they threw had a bearing on their capabilities as hunting dogs or all rounders. I've owned pitbulls, I've owned original alaunts which were 50% bullmastiff, I've never owned a bull greyhound but a lot of my mates own them, they all pretty much had the same attitude and aptitude for work but a full pit couldn't run like the original alaunts and the original alaunts couldn't run like a bull greyhound or for that matter what is now being called an alaunt. Hence what I meant when I said their makeup shape and size has an impact on just exactly what they can and can't do. 1 Quote Link to post
