devon flighter 421
i wouldnt mind using my gwp for a bit of mooching and maybe my gwp x lab in a pack given the chance, the gwps done most bits and pieces but the cross has been mainly a stalking dog ,quite a few years back i had a couple of labs and a couple of borders and we had some great fun doing "or trying to do" mink on a couple of rivers along with other things that cropped up, then we moved and i sort of went sideways with my sport more towards shooting and being honest i enjoyed it at the time and it did what was needed for a keeper but deep down its watching the dogs work thats at the heart of it for me ! we do a bit of trying to get rabbits into long/stop nets and thats "well shall we say interesting" 3 Quote Link to post

coverdogs 888
My brother in law had 2 gwp x harrier bitches a few years back they were great in heavy cover and good tounge, one was killed on the road hunting a fox we took the other bitch on when she was about 10 or so when she slowed down a bit, these dogs were great markers and worked well with terrier they have put many's a lurcher to shame. i am sorry but don't have any pics of them they were about 22 inches broken coated like small pointers here are a few of my pack now The 2 bitches in front are litter sisters fellhound x lakeland the bitch at the back is 3/4 beagle x irish terrier and my gwp lurcher, no point for guessing where that idea came from. and 2 pups from the 3/4 beagle irish terrier to a barking springer we are very pleased with progress so far. 12 Quote Link to post

matt1979 766
Would of thought a smallish lurcher with a good jacket would be useful and have the pace to catch as well. If not been out with a few vizsla types and they have been good dogs atb Quote Link to post
