artic 595
Reds... Without a doubt dogs have taken them. Forget your muntjac's and Cwd which are very easy for most types of running dogs. Reds are a different league, takes a special kinda dog that's done its homework to put one of them in your freezer on a regular basis. It's not for me though, I prefer taking pictures and feeding them. Nothing beats seeing any species of deer in our countryside, or if you're lucky enough watching them over your own garden hedge. 1 Quote Link to post
fifeman 164
Way back in the early too mid 90, s we was up scotland on a hunting holliday and we was roadsiding lamping off back of a truck when I lamped a pure white red stag, it was a truly beautiful majestic looking beast. How I wish I would of had a camera to take a pic, a few months later I red in the shooting news back then it had been found shot dead poached with its head cut off. What a sad ending for such a cracking beastie 1 Quote Link to post
Maximus Ferret 2,063
As you say Artic, there's no doubt it's been done but with all four stages, 1)hunt up 2) run down and catch 3) pull and 4) kill or hold 'til help arrives. I remain to be convinced that any dog even does three of them "regularly" or ever has (with the accent on regularly which can have different meanings to different folk. Still, what does it matter, that's only my opinion and I don't care much whether anyone agrees or not. Quote Link to post
