Picture of dog back of EDRD magazine looks decent collie cur type. As for dave sleight doing any dog work Phil Lloyd would be the man to ask as I think his moon dog came from DS. Obviously if wrong many apologies in advance but so long as whoever is paying for stud fee is happy wtf does it matter.

I thought he sort of pioneered the Kelpie X in a way? He writes in the countryman's weekly sometimes and made a couple of videos on Youtube for training lurcher's, to be fair I thought they were alright but I'm not saying he's some kind of legend. Pretty sure I read he kicks about with David Platts sometimes.

- that's the link for his Vid.

He's a very knowledgable dog man & a very capable dog trainer.i Remember a long way back when he just started doing his lurcher shows at game fairs a woman came up to him with a big scruffy lurcher & said do you want this dog or im goin to have it pts said it was untrainable!! Dave was after a scruffy type for a greengrass bit in his performance & Twoweeks later he had it working in the main ring at a game fair. He's helped me & a lot of other lads out. Imho Top Man

As Phil's said above...there's no way on God's Earth the merle gene came from a pure kelpie.

Red, black, cream or blue with or without tan markings...but definitely not merle!

Edited to add: that's not taking anything away from the collie line he did use which I believe goes back to Barry Sharpe's Moss...but please correct me if I'm wrong.
