theobenmike 0
What your after is a chronograph. A device which when you shoot over it, it gives you the feet per second of the pellet. Then I think it's this formula to work out the muzzle energy, got it written down somewhere but think this is right Fps x Fps x weight of pellet in grains 450240 I bought mine off ebay, think it was about £75. Or go to a local club or gunshop and see if they will test it for you Quote Link to post
daz1976 8
most gun shops will test it they normally do it free or charge uptp £1 Quote Link to post

spike 0
A second hand Chombro can be had for around £30 - well worth the money - easy to use & you can take them anywhere; fit easily in your pocket. Quote Link to post
Guest aircav
If you get a shop to test your airgun and its over the legal limit you may not get it back as its then classed as a Firearm. Quote Link to post
Guest bigredbusa
good point , you're better off getting one , even changing pellets could put it over and the old bill can be quite hot on it, even tho police cant test roadside they will take it away and they dont exactly look after them if you know what i mean Quote Link to post
owdnorthener 13
Cheers lads, looks like its worth buying my own then, thanks for all your help. Quote Link to post
Guest aircav
The biggest problem with airgun testing is there doesn't seem to be a standard pellet that the Home Office/Police use to see if you airgun is over the limit. Quote Link to post
