I don't have hunting dogs so I may not have the right of idea as to why some don't want then chipped ( trail back to you if something goes wrong etc )

 

Could you have it chipped and registered miles away from you to a friend . If it goes missing and found your friend could see to it you get your dog back . If your deep in the shit legally and your dog has been taken from you and you yourself are not known or connected to the dog and for whatever reason you need to distance yourself from the dog the registered owner could say they sold the dog ages ago and the new owner promised to update the chip

 

As said I don't understand hunting dogs but that might be a way to make sure you get your dogs back if they go wandering while still keeping yourself in front of the law

i have been a microchip per for ten years and that's about the price I get them for ....but you need to be a registered chipper to purchase them you also need a a scanner

Game officers will have them along with swab kits. I wouldnt be surprised if police cars will have them another way to harass folk..

A laws that's never going to be enforced properly who's going to round every farm and estate and make sure all dogs are chipped waste of money in my eyes think I'll chance it first before il pay any money or put dog registered to me especially if when you get caught you get 21 days to get dog chipped before you get fine

If you get a pull working the dogs the first thing they will do is sweep the dog, No point in getting grief for a couple of quid. It will be another string to their bow ,checking chips, driving licences car docs tyres stop lights etc the list is endless, just for catching a rabbit
