smiffie23 67
Not so sure Deker it's only a small chicken run in the garden and I've noticed him fairly soon. Left the traps down see what happens. Quote Link to post

Torquemada 288
Those little nipper traps are crap. The pins holding the metal frame down come away from the wood after a while, I have had my finger caught by them before because of it. Be aware! smiffie23 67
Yes it's only a quick fix job to get rid of these bad boys. Did have some black plastic ones like jaws somewhere . Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Yes it's only a quick fix job to get rid of these bad boys. Did have some black plastic ones like jaws somewhere . The Little Nippers are fine for the odd DIY job, I still have a handful knocking about but they don't last. I have found the bait platform can easily deform, it can easily be set much to hard, and has a bad habit of releasing on your fingers if you try and set it light. Like I say, for the odd DIY problem fine, but I use the Snap E almost exclusively now, I have a few T-Rex but they are simply not required for almost everything I do. Whilst the Snap E is a bit more expensive than the Littler Nipper (and the Pro Victor) I find they work better and last longer which in real terms means they are cheaper for me! Make sure you anchor the trap somehow. Professionally, mine all have to be set in outer boxes, this actually has the benefit of ensuring the rat approaches the trap on a route that means VERY close to 100% success rate, which makes the T-Rex almost redundant. MAG1980 116
Increase power to the trap by wedging a couple nails under the trailing wire thats attached to the actual coil spring and it increase's tension giving a bit more force when the traps activated. Quote Link to post
smiffie23 67
Had 3 mince since but that's it. Had the traps set in a sort of tunnel. Can you put a link up to the traps you use. If you have time. Cheers for the info. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Snap E traps in AF boxes, what I tend to use a lot of. The box funnels the rat to the kill zone and is very effective. Use also as a normal bait box if required! My supplies come from the trade who will not supply end users, but you will find them if you search about. Cheers Others makes are available! Edited February 11, 2016 by Deker 1 Quote Link to post
