Guest JohnGalway
I don't have dogs,, except me sheepdog, but as a farmer I can't stand those rangers. Stories I could tell ya about the P****'s even the head lad down here. Quote Link to post
spudlington 3
Have to say the little dealings i've had with them i've found individual rangers sound and reasonable but get the impression the managment side of NPWS is dominated by tossers. Just like every other state agency in this country! Quote Link to post
Guest FOXDOG
But theres no ban in Ireland Quote Link to post

Paid 935
Since 2004 occasional temporary Special Protection Orders (SPOs) have prohibited the killing or taking, or the sale or purchase of hares. The current special protection order will run for the period 17 April 2006 until 31 March 2007 Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
Since 2004 occasional temporary Special Protection Orders (SPOs) have prohibited the killing or taking, or the sale or purchase of hares. The current special protection order will run for the period 17 April 2006 until 31 March 2007 This is ONLY in Nothern Ireland folks. If you have written permission from land owners and park your car off the road in the famr yard, their will be no problem. I know this, as i have spoken to Des crofton, who knows the law, concerning hare coursing with lurchers. Hares are only protected in Northern Ireland and only in season in the south. They can be hunted from the 26th sep till the 28 th of Feb in southern Ireland. Quote Link to post
CAcountry_boy 0
Since I know no one here would ever think about violating the ban, please let your friends who do, know that I said to be careful, and stick to the land owners you (I mean they...) trust the most. And tell them I wish them all the luck. Quote Link to post

Guest Frank
What power does the rangers have down south ? Basicly, if you are cought without a hare hunting permit, they can prosecute you and will get the Police involved aswell. Its a big fine im told Quote Link to post

Friendly enough boys if you bump into them when out shooting but I'd say if a ranger started hastling them he'd get a swift Quote Link to post
